Competition in the 66th Annual Metro Phoenix USBC
Open Championships is now completed at AMF Christown and Johnson Lanes.

Laughlin Wins Masters, Stickney Wins Queens
Ben Laughlin won his 4th Phoenix Masters title
defeating Gary Estep 390-486 in the double elimination finals. As the sole
undefeated bowler, Laughlin had to lose twice to Estep. In first match,
Estep won 400-384 to force the second match.
Tina Stickney captured her first Queens title.
She trailed Brandi Wolfe by 68 pins going into the final game of the round robin
finals. Stickney shot 234 to Wolfe's 172. With the 30 bonus pins for
winning the match gave her the title by 24 pins.
Both events were hosted by AMF Deer Valley Lanes.

Ladies City Championships
The 66th Annual Metro Phoenix USBC Ladies City
Championships has been completed. The standings have been posted.
These are unofficial until averages and scores have been verified. Thank
you to AMF Deer Valley and AMF Shea Village for hosting this year's events.
FINAL RESULTS
Princess Handicap Tournament
Jodi Jones is the 2008 Princess having won the
tournament at AMF Deer Valley Lanes. Brenda Kampf, the 2007 Princess,
finished 2nd.
Senior City Championships
The 50th Annual Metro Phoenix USBC Senior
Championships will be at Lakeview Lanes on January 5th and 6th. This
tournament is open to all Metro Phoenix members age 55 and older. There is
a four person team event, doubles and singles.. The reserved entry
deadline is December 28. If space is available, entries will be accepted
up to January 5th. Entry fee is $19.00 per event per person. The overall
prize fund is based on handicapped scores with scratch awards given based on age
divisions.
OFFICIAL RESULTS
Senior Masters
Larry Hoffman defeated Norm Marasti to repeat as
the Metro Phoenix USBC Senior Masters Champion. Larry came from the Loser
Bracket to win the double elimination tournament winning the final match
490-484.

Youth City Championships
Congratulations to all of the winners at the Metro Phoenix Youth City Championships.
The tournament was November 10, 11, 17, and 18 at Brunswick Tri-City. The final
results are posted.
Final Standings
Maricopa County Senior Women's
The first event is the 24th Annual Maricopa
County Senior Women's Tournament. This is a joint event with the Mesa
Metro USBC and will be held at AMF Apache Lanes on October 27th and 28th.
It is open to women USBC bowlers age 55 and older that bowl in a certified
league in Phoenix or Mesa.
Valley of the Sun
The Valley of the Sun Senior tournament was
held at Johnson Lanes in Sun City West November 17th & 18th.
Congratulations to all that cashed. Prize checks have been mailed to the team

Final Results
The Valley of the Sun Masters was held at
Johnson Lanes on November 24th and 25th. Mike Friedrichs defended his
title and becomes the first to win the tournament three years in a row.
